The Perfect Weekend

Wondering what to do? Enjoy freedom from choice? Looking for ideas? We’ve put together our favorite itinerary for a weekend escape in the Catskills.

Stop off at a grocery store and grab everything you need to make your own pizzas. We have two stones and two ovens, which makes for a fast, simple, and delicious meal no matter when you arrive.

Then fall asleep on the L couch in the family room while you stream your favorite show on the big projector screen.

Wake up and make yourself a coffee on the Breville espresso machine. Then head to the popular Pakatakan Farmer’s Market to find everything you need to cook a perfect brunch.

After brunch, head to Pratt Rock for some exercise. Hike past a fun bit of quirky local history to see the amazing view from the top of the mountain.

At the end of your hike, dash across the road to cool off at the Schoharie Creek swimming hole. It’s safe but use your best judgement about the currents.

Head home, relax, and get ready for an amazing dinner at the Fierce Grizzly. Be sure to make reservations well in advance.

And lastly, if you’re up for it, end the night back in the meadow with a bonfire under the stars.

Sleep in. Then find your way to Buck Hill Farms. They rightly claim to offer the best breakfast in the Catskills. All the ingredients are fresh from their farm.

After breakfast, make a quick stop at Stamford Coffee for some caffeine-to-go. Check out the Catskill Outpost next door for some souvenirs or gifts from the weekend.

Coffee in hand, head a little further down the road for a calm stroll through the secret book village of Hobart. Main street is lined with 7 used book stores.

Then head back to Roxbury for one last romp through the woods before you head home.
